Good News, Solar power installed in a 100sq mile area could power the world. Lets aim for 200sq miles and see where it takes us.

What if we choose only to hear the good?

Hmmm. I feel that the good news is that we can decide to perceive the news how we wish to, but in this case, good news would mean that we choose to see the positive side(s) of something. Can we connect on some level together that we can relate the news to our own lives? I feel that when we can, we can spread more compassion. "We can do that here", as Shyam mentioned. We can share a news event and feel what, if any, are the positive aspects, or what can we be or do differently that could help or improve the situation. Each of us would have the opportunity explore from other viewpoints, and feel open to share more freely.
For example, I read a story about a ten year-old boy prodigy who's studying in college to one day study worm holes - a strange time-space phenomenon. I liked his encouraging words to other learners, saying that when people work hard and focus on their work, they can be just as successful. Also, the boy's teachers said that he sees things very simply, in contrast to some other students who think things should be harder than they are, putting mental blocks that make things harder than they should be.
I feel it's not the thing itself, it's our own beliefs, that cause us to feel something to be easy or hard, positive or negative. What we perceive through our own beliefs act to filter what is really there. That's a perspective anyway.
I'd love to hear from others about how we can share news as good news.
Thank you Jules for starting this group.
