I just did a little searching and I have a document from my grandfather.
It's a bit hard to read but it looks like he was born in Pafrenzin Kreis Rumelsburg Hinter Pommern Deutschland (or something like that). He came to the US in 1929. The name on this document about his family history is spelled Manske.
I say that we just say we are distantlty related - "HI" cousin!
