Tell us your Conscious Calling?
Finding the calling to work with people to help them live better lives through movement has created a major shift in my atitude about my purpose.

Knowing what I do has a positive impact on people, especially the aging population, gives some real meaning to the teaching of my program.

There are many older people who do not have the flexibility, balance or range of motion to do traditional, or even most alternative forms of exercise, so they do nothing but get older and stiffer, leading to a sedentary lifestyle. My program is designed specifically as practical fitness allowing people to participate in and maintain everyday activities.
What is your secret to healthy living?
Eating well, exercise and a positive outlook on life, spiritualness, my relationshiop with my wife/best friend, and powerful relationships with good people
What would you like to say?
The growth of the holistic network has led me to a lot of very creative, spirtual peoplel who, each in their own way, have made it easier for me to accept my own place in this arena.

Thanks to all of you who know me, and have mentored my growth. And thanks to those of you I have yet to meet.

May we all share in making the world a happier and healthier one.
About Me:
My journey into developing my program began after a long bout with low and mid back pain. I was looking for a way to keep myself from suffering the recurring injuries that kept putting me on the floor for extended periods.
I discovered Tai Chi, a centuries old Chinese discipline for health, relaxation, balance, flexibility, strength, meditation, self-defense and self-cultivation. It improves circulation, balance, coordination, and helps relax and strengthen the muscular and nervous systems.
The results from the Chinese form of exercise developed the physical changes I needed and was looking for. I have become an advocate for others who need physical changes and programs they are capable of working at, to live well.
During my nine plus years studying Tai Chi under Grandmaster Tom Sulick in Washington, NJ, I was fortunate to have many hours of private one-on-one instruction with a focus on movement techniques.
As a visual learner, I found the theory of movements came very naturally. Working with other students, I discovered I had a way of helping them learn by teaching movement the way it made sense to me. Becoming increasingly comfortable with the slow, gentle and expressive flow of movement interpretation, my desire to teach others began to build.
Knowing that I could help people increase balance, strength and overall range of motion, I have created an exercise method inspired by the underlying style of the forms I have studied. My program, Fitness for Independent Living™, uses some borrowed elements; some re-imagined movements and many of my own creation all tied together by my interpretations of how to teach.
Developed as an intuitive teaching/learning style, I focus on slow, gentle movement and kinetic awareness. Students develop an understanding of their own body and the way it feels during the movements. At the same time, they develop their balance, increase their range of motion, build leg and core strength to build a stronger foundation for support. These changes, along with improved coordination, create a smoother flow through movements and daily activities.
What makes Fitness for Independent Living™ different? It is the style of teaching. The content of the program and the language used to describe the movements.
There are no age boundaries for my program, however it works especially well for those over 55 who have lost touch with movement and need to exercise to improve their quality of life.
No matter whom I teach, or show my methods, it thrills me knowing I am helping make a positive change in their lives.

Hi Stan, I truly share your understanding, belief in and love for the benefits of Tai Chi! I could never have made it for 42 years walking around a massage table, were it not for using Tai Chi movements every step of the way. Anchoring into Divine Mother Earth and simultaneously remaining connected with my chakras,as planes of consciousness to the planets of our solar system, with my venus heart - siris will (throat center) - expansive jupiter(pineal center) and ultimately my crown lovingly within the Central Sun. The Oneness of it all, such Joy and Clarity! Thank You for reminding me. I know many, many of our mutual Brotherhood/Sisterhood shall be assisted thru your committment.

Hi Stan,

Thanks for reaching out to me. Yes, I have worked with the aging population for several years and in different capacities. In Texas (my home state), I worked for the Dept. of Human Services/Aged & Disabled clients...I was their voice to make sure they had services to help them have a better quality of life. Then, in NJ, one of my past lives was as a director of a home health care agency where 95% of my clients were elderly. Prior to that, I helped them with arranging caregivers to provide services in skilled nursing & other home care services. Recently, I am working with assisted living/independent living facilities using essential oils. Plus, I've done speaking engagements . They are gems!

Looking forward to discussing your project.

To your MAGNIFICENT life,

Christina
