Major issue, below the radar, linked to economy, health and environment

Michael Pollan -- Knight Professor of Journalism, UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism -- explains why we need to transform our relationship with food: what we consume, how and where we produce it, and more. A radical new food policy is required if we are to resolve our energy, health, and environmental issues.

I agree with you Maria.

The symbiotic relationship of land, food, water, and people should be obvious. Indigenous cultures have pointed this out many times. But our current mode leaves much to be desired and treats the land as a resource to be exploited and not respected. Pollan's points were so right on the mark. Our next president will hopefully not bow to the special interest groups that have driven policy for many years. Time for a change.

Peace,

I heard his latest interview on NPR. It was an eye opening to me. We would have to engage farmers, policy makers, distribution centers etc all together understanding that what one does it will affect the other. This really ought to be a major concern for our next president.
